One way for young people to learn good money habits is through managing a debit card. At Mennonite Financial, we offer a combination Visa debit / ATM card for this purpose.

What you can do with this card

With a youth Visa debit / ATM card, you can:

  • make purchases from your checking account without having to write a check
  • make free cash withdrawals from a Mennonite Financial ATM
  • have access to cash at thousands of surcharge-free ATMs throughout the world

Restrictions

There is no minimum age for opening a Mennonite Financial Visa debit / ATM card. We recommend, however, that you have your parents’ consent to do so. Our debit / ATM cards also require that you also have a Mennonite Financial checking account.

Securing your card

To open a Mennonite Financial youth Visa debit / ATM card:

  • download an application
  • fill out the application, sign, and bring or fax it to one of our offices
  • note: indicate in the margin that you also want to open a Mennonite Financial checking account if you do not already have one
